The more simple it is, the BETTER it is, in my opinion. Example:
Click
I notice you got a lot of clutter - that drives me nuts, lol.
Edit - for the record: windows blinds, VISTA XP skin. It's simple and very functional.

You think he has alot on his desktop...
My screen is literally half filled with icons.
Everything you probably have in that "Unsorted ----" (not sure of filters) folder - Is just unsorted on my desktop lol.
EDIT IN: Just noticed OP's desktop. Lol. Desktop of teenager obviously - Hence the Limewire, "Keygen" folder for a program, and CD burning software icon.

I agree with EchoSex. My desktop has only one icon on it- Recycle Bin.
The background is always some comic that I'd read online recently and particularly enjoyed. Right now this from (Penny Arcade) is the featured comic.

Hehe, everyone should have a folder like that :3 It's the junk drawer of the hard drive! Put crap in there until you feel like sorting it out.

[EDIT]
Former Ruling, lol. If I was an adult too, I'd doubt I'd pay for something like Style XP, when I could KeyGen it, and I only save those KeyGens as my mother wants to use them too, so I'm saving them till she decides to install them on her PC, lol.
Also, what's wrong with LimeWire? Whatever age...
And also, my god, it's freakin' burning software, so what? It's mostly adults that burn CDs anyway. ;\ Only time I've ever used burning was last night when I re-formatted, to back up files I wanted to keep...

It isnt the programs, its just compilation of it all that tells me its a teenagers desktop lol.
My desktop is weird for an 18 yr old though :\
I have more "New Wordpad document(number)" than anything else on my desktop - I have to open them all before I know which I wanted.
